Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenHe began his studies at the National Theatre School of Denmark at the age of 27. He graduated in 1995. He was also featured in The Killing, a drama series that aired around the globe. Then, he appeared in Those Who Kill II and Borgen III, two other popular Danish drama series. He also had the lead role in Sherlock the series, a BBC drama in which his character was Charles Augustus Magnussen, whose blackmailer. He played the Russian president in the American TV show House of Cards. He won an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his part in Danish television drama Herrens Veje, which was shown in the UK in 2019 as Ride Upon the Storm. Mikkelsen is fluent in English, Swedish, German as well as Danish as well as his native language. He also has picked up many accents. He claims that both he and his brother started learning English through listening to Monty Python records and learning the comedy sketches
