Patricia Apollonia Kotero is an American singer-actress and former model. The actress was the co-star in Prince's 1984 film Purple Rain, and the vocalist for the girl group Apollonia 6 It was among the many female artists that benefited from Prince's collaboration in the 1980s. Patricia Kotero began her acting and modeling career in Santa Monica California, in the latter part of the 1970s. The first time she appeared was on CHiPS. As the female protagonist of Prince's Purple Rain was her first performance in the year 1984. Prince changed the girl's name during this time. The actress replaced Vanity with the female trio Vanity 6 for her role in the film in the role of Apollonia 6 replacing Vanity.
