Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American producer stage and screen actor best recognized for her roles in films in Ray Undercover Brother and on the television show The Mentalist. She has an BA in African-American Studies from Brown University and an MFA in acting from the Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is a writer and actress working in theater, film and television. Her first job was as an actor in theater later on, she went on to be a part of numerous television series, including mainstream and independent films. She rose to fame as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico while also appearing in BET's epic show The Book of Negroes. For both of these roles she earned critical acclaim, as well as several nominations as well as distinctions including her first award, the Television Critics Choice Award for the Best Actress. In 1995, she made her acting debut as Ariel in The Tempest as Ariel. Her stage credits are Come and Gone Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis, a Broadway production directed by Joe Turner. Her film work she's most popular for the roles she played in Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express or The Help. The role she plays on TV in ABC's police drama series High Incident has earned her the praise of her fellow actors.
